Style Ideas: Empowering Vulnerable Women with BraveWorks

You might remember a few posts back here, I showed some beautiful jewelry and a handbag from BraveWorks. I am so excited to work with them and bring awareness to this wonderful nonprofit. BraveWorks’ mission is to empower women and families overcoming trauma and injustice, bridging the gap from pain to purpose through; impactful connections, inspired creations and economic confidence… Transforming pain to purpose.

BraveWorks is a 501(c) 3 non-profit based in Charlotte, NC in an old victorian house just south of Uptown Charlotte. They empower women in Charlotte as well as in developing countries including Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Mexico, Ecuador and more.

Their work is beautiful and inspiring. They teach women, who become artisans to make jewelry and other crafts. These artisans receive a stipend for their time and then the products are sold online to help support the programs and missions. The artisans are also helped with a gentle re-entry into society through goal setting, economic mobility, spiritual growth and access to resources all through an inclusive Christ-centered approach.

Everyone that I have met including Beth the Director, is focused on success for their programs and helping these women around the world. Beth recently returned from Africa visiting artisans and you can see the love of her work.

The jewelry and crafts are very well made and of great quality. And they are all very “in style’. In fact the wrap skirt, I am wearing is one of the top featured skirt trends this spring, from maxi’s to midi’s as featured in Who, What, Wear, Town and Country and many others. And BraveWorks is offering so many patterns and colors that will work for anyone’s style.

I am also featuring some beautiful bracelets and earrings. And everyone loves this Phone Crossbody bag with Pockets that comes in several colors and if you are looking for specific styles they have several more options and colors for you.

My favorite item is this Ixoq Extra Large Cesta Tote that is made by women in Guatemala from recycled plastic. They are modeled after traditional market bags seen throughout Latin America. This bag is perfect for the beach and comes in various sizes and fun colors.

BraveWorks artisans also offer beautiful Home Decor, which make beautiful gifts. I love this Woven Pom Pom Basket for our beach house.

I know we have many options on where to shop but anytime I can shop and help other women it is a HUGE win for me. I am happy and pleased to offer you a 10% discount on anything you purchase from Braveworks by using the Code SILVER10 at checkout.

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments about this wonderful non-profit and their beautiful crafts.
