A Day at Magnolia Market

Like the magnolia tree,
She bends with the wind,
Trials and tribulation may weather her,
Yet, after the storm her beauty blooms,
See her standing there, like steel,
With her roots forever buried,
Deep in her Southern soil.
— Nancy B Brewer, Letters from Lizzie

Dear Friends,

Last week I visited my daughter's family in New Braunfels, TX and had a wonderful time.  While there, she and I (and two small grandsons) decided to take a side trip to Waco, Texas and Magnolia Market for an overnight. The town of Waco is charming and Magnolia Market is something to see if you like Chip and Jo Jo's style and the show Fixer Upper!

Mr. Silver and I enjoy the show.  It is easy to watch and to get caught in the humor between Chip and Joanna.  Chip has an uncanny way of helping her see the humor in most things... and although widely successful they are rooted in their family, community and life together.  If you have read their story, you are aware of Joanna's strong faith.   Trying to do the right thing as a mother, (independent of religion) and putting your trust in the Lord that you are doing your best for your family and children.  There are so many trials and tribulations as a Mom, most of us can easily associate with her struggles.

Wherever we went the people of Waco were gracious and welcoming, the store was fun, and the crowds were not too bad.  Customer service is pretty spectacular, wherever you are on the property.  My daughter and I found the prices reasonable for the quality.  Not everyone can find treasures like Joanna, so it's great that they provide these items (although mass produced) for the average homeowner.  We both felt that the greenery and silk flowers were very real looking and of extremely high quality.  I would suggest you check them out as I have not seen anything like them before at any of the craft stores.  Especially the tulips!

My awesome new earrings  featured above are Raven +Lilly, bought at the market. Before I left the market three people asked me where I bought them.  They are made of leather and so fun!  I am also wearing white jeans from J. Crew Factory, Clubmaster sunnies from Ray-Ban and my faithful Jack Roger sandals as well as my usual arm candy!

Truly the best part of the trip was spending time with my daughter and grandsons.  Check out the cute pics below.  Of course the last is in the hotel pool!

Suggestions for your trip... don't go in the heat of the summer!  Or if you do, at the very least, don't shower till after!  HA!  Check out the watermelon drinks at Luna Juice Bar.  Pretty awesome! And enjoy lunch at Alpha Omega Grill and Bakery... it was really good!  My one suggestion for Magnolia Market was recycling containers, which they said were in the works!!

PS. If you love my tee as I have heard from so many, know that they will be coming to the blog!  Please check back!!

Thank you for reading and until next time XXOO,
